You must not only preserve the moment on videotape but also protect the tape! Store it upright, not on it's side, Keep it away from heat and humidity. Keep it in it's case. Store it fully rewound and run it at least once a year. It is also a good idea to back up or transfer your tapes to a higher quality and more durable DVD disc.
