Non Linear Editing, Digital Editing - The below samples were taken from the same piece of video from our analog, 3-chip camera. On the upper left is fourth generation linear editing or, from tape to tape to tape to tape. The bottom right is edited non-linearly or digitally. No quality loss! You can view more and see the complete comparison at our studio.
On a linear or tape to tape edit, most of your final tape you'd get is third generation. Some is fourth, this shows the worst case scenario. Also, please keep in mind that you are sitting much closer to this computer screen and it shows more detail than todays television sets. When HDTV becomes even more common in next few years, you will really see the difference at home.
Below are two stills from a studio test we did from the same wedding video. The moving video version shows a split screen and goes back and forth. We took two still samples to show you a representation of each side. Please feel free to to ask to see the actual sample when you come in to visit the studio.

These samples were taken from our 3-chip analog camera. Our digital camera offers even more detail and clarity. The digital captures truer colors, more accurate flesh tones, purer whites and deeper blacks. Once we have this pristine image, we can soften it up as the mood or your taste prefers. Remember you're viewing this on a computer screen now. It shows much more detail than a TV screen. In a few years when the new TV standard, HDTV is in everyone's home you will really be able to see the difference.
